2024 ANC ZINE FAIR
Sunday December 1, 12PM - 6PM
The Nave
3502 Spenard Rd
Anchorage, AK
The ANC Zine Fair is an artist-led gathering of independent zine-makers, publishers, print-makers, and activists in Anchorage, Alaska. Organized through a mutual love for zines, books, and other forms of printed media, the ANC Zine Fair strives to celebrate and strengthen self-published culture in an inclusive, community-focused, exhibition and marketplace.
In 2024 participating artists and publishers have the opportunity to table their zines, prints, ephemera, and other self-published works at a one-day market.
There is now a waitlist for tabling space. We still encourage filling out the form. We will work to accommodate as many folks as possible. For more details, attend one of our info sessions on 11/10 & 11/17 at 6:30PM. The Zoom link will be sent to everyone that fills out the tabling form.
Q&A
Are there any resources for zine-making?
Yes. You can come during open hours at the Seed Lab on 11/17 & 24 from 12-3PM and you’ll receive help in printing and designing your zines. Additionally, we can send you a list of local and online resources and materials. Also, you’re encouraged to join the info sessions led by the ANC Zine Fair Team on Zoom. Follow our Instagram for updates about meeting times and open hours.
Are there content restrictions?
The ANC Zine Fair does not ban or censor content. However, we do not accept or support any racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic and transphobic content.
How can I manage the sales?
It’s entirely your responsibility to manage the sales of your stock. You can use Venmo, and we encourage you to have a printed version of the QR code for practicality, use card readers such as Square, or cash, but remember to bring your own change. Cash boxes are fine too. The ANC Zine Fair is not responsible for overseeing your sales and stockage.
How and when do I set-up my table?
You’ll be assigned a table via email so you’ll know where to set-up when you arrive. Set-up hours are from 10AM-12PM. Please make sure you’re done setting up before the event starts. You’ll need to bring whatever is needed to display your work (e.g., tablecloth, book stands, etc.) and if you need electricity or wall space you should let us know in advance. Clean-up occurs right after the end of the event from 6-8PM.
Do I have to be present the entire duration of the event?
Participants should attend their tables the whole time. Alternatively, they should organize with someone else to attend their table or ask us if there are volunteers available. The ANC Zine Fair is not responsible for overseeing your sales and stockage.
How else can I be involved?
You can volunteer at the fair. If you’re interested please fill out the volunteer form above.
Can I advertise the event through my channels and network?
Of course. We’d love you to help spread the word. We have a communication kit that we send participants and volunteers via email and we also have printed posters available for grab at the Seed Lab. Additionally, vendors can be spotlighted on our Instagram by sending us images and descriptions of their work.
What’s the typical public?
The ANC Zine Fair is a family-friendly event. It’s frequented by a heterogeneous and diverse public of all ages. For this reason, we ask vendors to be mindful of explicit content with kids.
Will there be food and beverages?
Yes. There will be food and beverages available for free for the vendors.
Is alcohol allowed at the venue?
